Director
of Economic Development
Applications
are currently being accepted for the position of Director of
Economic Development with the City of O’Fallon. The
Director will be responsible for attracting new and retaining
existing industrial, manufacturing, office and commercial
development to the City through continuous active recruitment,
marketing and research efforts. In addition, the position will
organize, plan, direct and supervise the activities of the
Economic Development Department. Starting salary is $66,382 a
year, plus great benefits. The requirements for this position
include:
Completed
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related
field and a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience
or a Masters degree in Business Administration with a
minimum of two (2) years relevant experience preferably in a
municipal context.
Obtained
or completing coursework to receive professional
certification as an “Economic Finance Professional (EDFP)”
or “Certified Economic Developer (CEcD).”
Thorough
understanding and working knowledge of real estate, leasing
and business financing techniques and the ability to apply
those techniques in practical situations.
Knowledge
and understanding of consensus-building techniques.
Strong
public relations/people interaction skills.
