Executive
Director
A
Missouri Nonprofit Corporation
JCEDC
is seeking an energetic leader to continue our organization’s
effort to stimulate the growth of the economy of Johnson County,
Missouri through retention and expansion of existing commercial
and industrial enterprises and proactive recruitment of new
commercial and industrial employers to the area.
The director reports to a Board of Directors and interacts
with key business, government, and institutional leaders, as well
as economic and community developers throughout the region.
Johnson
County is located at the eastern edge of the Kansas City
Metropolitan Area with US Highway 50 and State Highway 13
intersecting at Warrensburg, the county seat.
Johnson County, which has a diversified industrial base,
has a population of 52,000 and is the home of Central Missouri
State University and Whiteman Air Force Base – the home of the
B-2 Bomber.
Position
requirements: Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study,
with at least 5 years of management and economic development
experience preferred. Candidates
must possess a comprehensive knowledge of marketing, business
development, and sales. The
ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the creation
and retention of primary jobs. Previous experience in grant writing and solicitation of
program funding from state, municipal and corporate sources and
development of public/private partnerships in economic development
will be considered. Well-developed
communication and organizational management skills required.
The
position has a primary residency requirement within ninety days of
hire date. Benefits
