Economic Development Director - City of Cabool

The City of Cabool is seeking a highly motivated person to serve as the Economic Development Director for this progressive and proactive South Central Ozark City of 2,200 people.  A bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, and or other related fields will receive top consideration but could be modified to include college level course work for the exceptional person.  Applicant should have a minimum of 2 years job experience in a progressively responsible management activity in the public or private sectors.  Applicant must have excellent organizational and communication skills; both oral and written.  Applicant must be capable of working independently and at times closely with others to accomplish established goals and objectives.  Computer skills and multi-tasking with federal, state and local elected and appointed officials is required.  The Economic Developer will work independently, but under the supervision of the City Administrator and periodically report when requested to the Mayor and Council.   Other duties include: responsibility for developing an existing business retention plan, marketing the community, establishing a new business recruitment strategy, compliance activities, and will act as economic liaison between the City, civic organizations, to include existing businesses and groups.  Also will be responsible for planning of retail and industrial development projects, grant preparation, and administration.  Must have a valid driver’s license and successfully pass pre-employment drug screening and reference checks.  Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience.  The City of Cabool provides a competitive health and retirement benefit plan and is an equal opportunity employer.
