Negotiable Located on I-44, formerly known as Route 66,
Lebanon and Laclede County have a place in history. Indian
tribes roamed the area hunting the plentiful game,
soldiers of the Civil War protected the telegraph lines
that stretched through Lebanon, and Route 66 congers up
all sorts of exciting memories. Today, Lebanon is known as
the "aluminum boat capital of the world" due to the
numerous aluminum boat companies that have located here.
Other major employers include Detroit Tool Industries,
Marathon Electric and the Copeland Corporation. Lebanon
and Laclede County offer activities from their terrific
fishing to shopping at outlet centers and specialty shops.
The Cowan Civic Center is the focal point of activity.
This 125,000 square foot building includes a 675-seat
theatre, a 46,000 square-foot exhibit hall, meeting rooms,
a grand foyer, an aquatic center and a gym. Whether you
enjoy the theater, a concert, the rodeo, history or
leisure time in the park, you can find it all in Lebanon
and Laclede County. Job responsibilities include targeting
new businesses; existing business retention and expansion;
marketing; community education of the economic development
process; downtown restoration; maintaining positive
relationships with community groups, the media and city,
county, state and federal agencies. Preferred
qualifications include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent
economic development work; prefer a Certified Economic
Developer and/or an Economic Development Finance
Professional with a proven track record of economic
development successes; good communicator and consensus
builder; experience in marketing and sales. Mail or email
