Urban Districts Alliance Executive Director Position
Availability The Springfield, Missouri, Urban
Districts Alliance (UDA) seeks a creative,
entrepreneurial, and self-motivated downtown
management professional to serve as Executive
Director. The UDA manages a community improvement
district and a community development corporation as
well as events and festivals. Under the leadership of
the new Executive Director, the UDA will take on an
expanded role in downtown economic development.
Successful candidates will have exceptional personal
and communication skills, expertise in downtown
development and best management practices, historic
preservation, grant writing, business recruitment and
retention, and fund raising. The successful candidate
will be able to read, understand, and compare project
pro formas, package and propose development projects,
and understand public finance and the ways it can be
used to support private developments. The Executive
Director is responsible for staff management, budget
preparation and oversight, work plan development and
implementation, maintaining and fostering positive
relationships with businesses, public officials, the
media and general public, implementation of special
events, and assisting all committees as needed. The
Executive Director will report directly to the UDA
Board of Directors. Position open until filled. All

considered. Salary: $40,000 to $60,000 depending on
