The Green Hills Regional Planning Commission has a position opening for the Workforce Development Program Director.  The Program Director is responsible for the oversight and successful delivery of Workforce Programs subcontracted to the Green Hills Regional Planning Commission by the Northwest Workforce Investment Board.  Duties will include:

➢           Provide technical assistance to Workforce staff regarding WIOA Adult, Dislocated Worker, and Youth Programs and services provided within the 9   counties Green Hills sub-region.

➢           Provide oversight to fiscal obligations and expenditures.

➢             Coordinate, gather, and compile written responses to requests for proposals, grant  applications, and all day-to-day professional correspondence.

➢             Serve on committees, attend meetings as necessary to maintain and stay current on best practices, foster partnerships and strengthen knowledge base.

➢           Work with all stakeholders to identify needed programs and services

➢           Oversee administrative aspects of programs to meet the objectives of stakeholders

➢             Analyze data to determine the effectiveness of programs and implement needed improvements to meet the agencies contractual obligations.

➢           Plan and manage outreach activities to advocate for increased program awareness.

➢             Collect statistics and other information necessary to evaluate the impact of programs on      the community and target groups.

➢           Prepare reports for the agency, stakeholders, and funders.

➢           Evaluate program services to identify opportunities for improvements.

➢           Recruit and train new staff members.

➢           Provide supervision to all Workforce Development staff.

➢           Provide direct services to customers and participants as needed.

➢           Other duties as assigned.


•             High School Diploma or Equivalent

•             Class F Driver’s license and insured personal vehicle

•             Professional writing and verbal communication skills a must

•               Ability to operate internet-based computer applications as well as Microsoft Word and    Excel


•             Salary commensurate on experience.

Candidates for this position must have reliable, insured personnel transportation available at all times.  Travel will primarily consist of day travel within the 9 Green Hills counties.  However, at times, travel outside the region to attend meetings, training, and conferences will be required, including overnight stays.  Destinations outside the region generally include Jefferson City, Columbia, St. Joseph and Kansas City.
