The Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce in Springfield, Missouri seeks a collaborative, innovative and motivated leader with proven track record of collaborating with internal and external partners to achieve regional economic development objectives, who will serve as its next Vice President of Economic Development.


The ideal candidate will possess the ability to build on existing public sector and private sector partnerships to successfully advance shared economic development priorities and further strengthen a robust regional economy. This candidate will credibly communicate economic development priorities and deliverables, while building and sustaining support from the private and public sectors throughout the region. The successful candidate will simultaneously act as:

✓ An expert economic development practitioner

✓ A coach and developer of talent

✓ A collaborative member of the staff leadership team of the Chamber of Commerce. The position reports directly to the Chamber President/CEO and directs an Economic & Workforce Development department of six people (including the VP), with four direct reports.



·         Bachelors’ degree

·         Five years of Chamber and/ or economic development experience with some supervisory experience

·         Ability to build effective coalitions and collaborate effectively with internal and external groups

·         Economic Developer certification preferred



·         Salary: $120,000 – $130,000
